Buckhorn Steak and Roadhouse in Winters

Been to the Buckhorn several times in the last few years. ALWAYS a fantastic meal with great service. Wonderful decor and set in a quaint downtown setting in Winters. Really enjoy the trip and the meal - always!

Was disappointed that there was not beer battered prawns on the menu. There were too many meat dishes. There also was no dill dressing.

Amazing prawns. Wife got the steak and said it was great. Good cocktails. Pricey but well worth it for what you get.

Good vibe, great food and service. Thursday night, Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger, fries and a beer for $15. Burger was slammin,, thick n juicy, Mud Pie Dessert Tasty treat. The Caesar Pleaser is Bomb! Definitely recommend must try. Local or Passing thru or visiting, a good place to change the mood, nice big bar, lots of Taxidermy

Great food, great atmosphere & friendly staff. We had St. Louis ribs & the seafood pasta. Fresh, not salty and the bread to die for! The caesar salad was good. Relaxing respite in the middle of our road trip. May drive the 2 hours just to return!

Great atmosphere, good service, they were very accommodating of my gluten allergy despite not really having the menu for it, totally appreciated the chips instead of bread and guiding me through the menu to avoid sauces containing flour. The food was incredible and perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back!

The place is nice but loud. Waiting time was about 25 minutes. They took like another 25 minutes to get our food. But the bread is delicious with butter is delicious and the food is great. I got the char roasted sirloin and it was On point!!!! Simply delicious. Their pie is really good too. Not too rich so it's easy to finish the whole thing.

Great food, always perfect.. the special tonight ( ribs) should be on the menu always. Was better than the prime rib. And that's saying something!!

Delicious food and very kind service. My fiance and I made a reservation for 7:30 and the place was packed. I definitely recommend making a reservation. We started with sharing the beer battered giant prawns which were delicious, well cooked, and the batter was light and not greasy. I had the medallions with mushroom cream sauce and garlic mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious. Also, if you like rum based mixed drinks and cinnamon, I highly recommend the Nui Nui. Everything was to die for, just be ready to spend some money!

We got there a little early for our reservation and they got us in early. Our server, Cathy, was fantastic - so personable and knowledgeable about the restaurant. We got drinks, apps, entrees, and dessert. Everything was delicious although the apps came with extra stuff so we had way, way too much food! The steak bites are not to be missed - so tender and well seasoned, they don't need sauce. We both ordered steaks which were perfectly done with real bacon on the potato. The side of button mushrooms were yummy too. My favorite drink was "Bees Knees" and it was the bees knees! We look forward to going again!

The sirloin steak was tinny and strange tasting. Like the steak was grass fed. Your standard American steak is grain fed. Leave those grass fed metallic cows back in Australia where they belong. The steak and lobster were cooked perfectly though. The service was excellent and the soups were great.

One of our favorite places. the food is fresh, delicious and service fantastic. Even vegetarians have options, pasta, baked potato and grilled portabello mushroom - the seasonings are just perfect. They also have hot fresh sourdough with whipped butter. Love their pest salad dressing and baked potatoes.

We had a large family dinner for 18 planned. The service was amazing and both servers were on top of it all. Tomahawk steak was excellent as always. Can't wait to go back.

I loved the atmosphere and service was awesome! Food was incredible, we had a huge tomahawk rib eye and steamer clams. So good! My tip would be to make reservations.

The Food is amazing. I get something different each time I go and am never dissapointed. Love the atmosphere. The waters and waitress very polite and very attentive. Jennifer was our waitress this last time and she was wonderful.

It's worth the drive to visit Buckhorn for special occasions. I particularly enjoy the rack of lamb and tried the steak bites last time I was there as an appetizer (and they were incredible.). Good drink menu, unique ambiance, amazing food, and decent prices for what you get.

This place is like going to the old country boy style time. However, really nice and cozy. People are very friendly and courteous. Servers provide a good quality attention and good customer service.The menu here is complete and have a bit of everything.Their meats are gorgeous, cook to perfection whichever is your favorite term. Medium rare is my preferred steak term and they gave not disappointed me once yet. I have coming to eat here for almost 5 years and every time has been an awesome and outstanding experience. All the times that I have visited this place I have been accompanied by at least 5 or more people. Family and friends and also co-workers and even customers have been experiencing this place with me.I have nothing else but highly recomendations for this place from all aspects of customer service.You will not be disappointed nice place to spend some time enjoy food and a good drink.Very nice atmosphere and great for the whole family!

This is certainly one of the coolest restaurants in the region. Whenever I visit this place I am so satisfied. They keep their high standard service and the topmost level of dishes they provide. You definitely will enjoy this this place. Very recommended.

The food and the service were both excellent. The place has an old-school ambiance and many deer hanging on the walls. My wife particularly loved the sourdough bread.

My favorite steakhouse. Always excellent service and even better meals. Char Roasted tri tip all the way. Saturdays they have cream of mushroom soup that is amazing. Their house dill salad dressing is the best dressing on the planet. If you haven't been, go tonight

Second time here and I'm still craving more! From the minute we came in, the entire staff was incredibly friendly. We had a tough time trying to pick what we wanted from a menu full of delicious looking food and someone noticed and came and gave us tips on how to choose the perfect steak. My girlfriend ended up getting their Tuesday Tri-Tip special (only $15!!), while I ate the divine Baseball Sirloin (no pic, sorry). Thank you guys so much!P.S. The cajun steak bites are a MUST.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is very laid back and the staff welcomes all their customers with open arms as if they're family. Excellent cocktail selection and delicious food! The ribeye steak was great! Looking forward to going here again.

Buckhorn Steakhouse is great! Old school steak house with charm. Really good service, our server was friendly and knowledgeable! The food was delicious! Calamari was one of the best I've had recently. The house made creamy dill dressing on the house salad was really good. Surf n Turf main course was amazing! Steak cooked perfectly to medium rare, the lobster tail was to die for! Will be back for sure.

Huge lobster tail, and prime rib was delicious! The Margaritas were good too. I highly recommend this establishment.

Delicious. Had the calamari could have eaten the whole plye as a meal. Loved the bread crispy outside soft warm middle. Clam chowder was great. Peppercorn sirloin on point. Charred sirloin looked like a burnt marshmallow but tasted amazing!!

One of the best places I been too! We really enjoyed ourselves. Not sure what our waiters name but he gave excellent service! We brought our own bottle of wine for a small corkage fee of $12. If you go on a holiday get reservations as early as possible to avoid the crowd.

This is the best steak I've ever had!! The New York Steak is delicious. Wait is a little long, but totally worth it. I also loved the ambiance here, very welcoming! Would definitely come again.

Excellent service. Ask for Cody🙃. Food great. Prices for what you get is a bargain. My date and I both had great leftover dinners for 2 more meals. That's 3 meals for the original price which ain't bad to start with. With those prices, quantity, and quality. How can you afford not to eat there😋😀??

Awesome place! Decoration and environment is really nice, food is yummy, staff is kind and friendly and very good prices! Definitely worth going. They have special dishes every day. One of my favorite places

Had an office holiday party here. Food was good (chicken was a little dry) and the decor and private room was very cozy and pleasant. Would need to go back for a proper steak before passing more judgement.

A great restaurant and bar. Great service and the food was very well prepared. We had eaten around 7:00 and there were a lot of people eating, I would suggest if a group of people want to eat early in the evening they should make a reservation.

Had great food and very knowledgeable and friendly servers. Portabella Mushrooms to start off were great flavor and good portion. Rib Eye was cook perfect slightly lacking some flavor but still tasted good. Char Roasted Sirloin was great in flavor and tenderness of meat. Would go back

We used to come here in the mid 80's for prime rib before running Bay to Breakers the next day. Back after all these years for the classic and worth the trip.

Had such a great time here. Party of four, separate checks no problem. Our Waiter was the best! The cocktails were Delicious, Salad was also fresh and fast. When the Entrees arrived I totally forgot to take pictures. It was the best rack of Lamb, perfectly cooked. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I took one picture of the placemat and one of the salad.

We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we visited this delicious restaurant which we didn’t know before. We passed a delightful time there with very good dishes and an experienced crew and a talented cook. We put this venue in our phone list and we shall definitely come back very soon. We highly recommend.

Had a reservation, was seated promptly. Nice place, polite staff, prices were decent. Catch of the day, sea bass, was outstanding. Other stuff was alright, but the fish won me over from 3 stars to 4.

It was a very long wait in the cold out front but well worth the wait. You know it is a great place when people are waiting. Once we ordered our food it was delivered timely and very delicious. My husband love his Tomahawk steak, my grandson loved his combo dinner (steak, prawns and ribs) and I loved my grilled salmon which was very fresh...no fishiness to it. We even have leftovers for Super Bowl.
